Description
This giant sequoia is the blue-leaved variant of the type species. SEQUOIADENDRON giganteum ‘Glaucum’ grows more slowly than this one. Like all giant sequoias, it has an excellent root system that makes it easy to withstand storms. This conifer grows for the first 20 years in a conical shape and then develops into a column. Despite the additive “giant” in its name, it does not take up much space in a garden and can also be planted in medium-sized gardens.
