Description
This contorted common hazel has red leaves. The intensity of the color of CORYLUS avellana ‘Red Majestic’ is enhanced by sunlight. In other words, the more sunlight it receives, the deeper the red becomes. In winter, it is highly decorative with its twisted branches, and as it matures, it is especially suited to transparency pruning. In early spring, before the leaves appear, its long catkins make it visually appealing. Occasionally, it produces edible hazelnuts, but these are few.
