This incense cedar (California incense-cedar) has a beautiful foliage variegated with yellow and green. CALOCEDRUS decurrens ‘Aureovariegata’ comes from North America. It grows in a columnar shape, which even as it ages remains very narrow in relation to its height. Its foliage develops in a flat and spread way, quite atypical for a conifer (see photos). This is one of the most fire tolerant conifers in California. Its wood is the raw material for wooden pencils.
